Nissan’s design center in Rio de Janeiro has created a vehicle that is going to be offered in Latin American markets only, and this concept is an off-road beast called the Frontier Attack. The pickup truck is standing at the Buenos Aires Auto Show podium, and there is a good possibility for this concept to be converted into the production car.
The potential production Frontier Attack will be 40 millimeters higher than the standard version, and it will be equipped with larger Yokohama tires that can conquer any terrain. Furthermore, the concept comes with the stretched roof and bigger seats so that the passengers can feel as comfortable as possible when they are flying over sand dunes.
The Nissan Frontier Attack concept looks beautiful in that red color, chrome black finish and tinted headlights. In addition, the truck comes with the 1980’s-inspired gray “Attack” body decal and custom running boards, whereas the company added a luggage rack in order to increase cargo capacity and spice things up slightly. The interior is similar to the exterior of the concept with a lot of red accents.
Nissan made sure that the Frontier Attack concept is the good off-roader and that is why it integrates the company’s best 4×4 hardware and the dynamic control system which increases traction on every surface. This system functions in a way that it monitors steering and brakes to reduce engine speed but it also detects under and over steering. Every serious off-road vehicle comes with features such as hill start assist and hill descent control, and this pickup is no exception.
Under the hood is a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 190 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque and it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The Frontier is the only model in the Nissan’s lineup that sports a rear multilink suspension with a rigid axle. At the moment, the Japanese manufacturer wants to see the reactions of the public before they actually decide to produce the Frontier Attack.
