The Nightmare Before Christmas is hands down one of the best movies for this holiday. Many consider watching this ahead of Christmas to be a tradition of its own. The Halloween Town, Sally, Jack, and Zero have been a vital part of our Christmas holidays for years now even though this gem arrived in theaters in 1993. But did you know that this film has quite a few peculiar things that you’ve probably missed? Let’s take a look.
4The voice of Santa
The original voice of Santa Claus was done by Vincent Price! Burton adored this horror icon and managed to convince him to narrate 1982 short, Vincent, that revolved around a young boy who emulates the screen veteran. He later successfully cast him in Edward Scissorhands. Unfortunately, Price’s wife died shortly before his work began on The Nightmare Before Christmas. Selick knew that it would be hard for Price to do the Santa then, so he decided to appoint Edward Ivory instead.
