We are all aware of the fact that Daniel Craig cannot be the famous secret agent forever. However, the big question is who his replacement might be, somehow, still remains unanswered. At the moment, there is only one actor whose name has recently been linked to James Bond – Aidan Turner, the star of a drama series “Poldark.”
Sir Roger Moore, who played 007 between 1973 and 1985, was the one to give the green light for this succession to take place. The first installment in the James Bond film series in which Moore took on the great role was “Live and Let Die”, and some of the remaining six titles are “The Man with the golden Gun”(1974), “For Your Eyes Only”(1981) and “A view to a Kill”(1985).
According to Daily Star, Sir Roger Moore believes that Turner will prove to be a rather “good version of Bond.” Moreover, he is not the only one who thinks so. Robin Ellis, known for his role of Captain Ross in “Poldark” series, has also expressed his opinion that his co-star Aidan Turner can be trusted with this huge part. What is left for us to find out is whether Moore’s approval will have any effect on the “James Bond” production team in the process of choosing the next 007 spy.
Surprisingly enough, Turner himself still doesn’t take seriously these speculations, but rather believes all of the assumptions are based only on rumors and nothing more.
Having first played James Bond in “Casino Royale” (2006), and then in another three films, last of which was released in 2015 (“Spectre”), Daniel Craig has now come to the point where, he claims, he would rather kill himself than star in another “James Bond” movie. However, he has also described playing this role as “the best job in the whole world.”
Finally, even if Turner, for one reason or another, doesn’t get to become the new 007, there are other candidates for this part, including Idris Elba, Jack Huston, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston. All we can do is sit and wait for the movie production team to make their decision.
