After a match in which the Patriots looked pretty sloppy and just haven’t played their best football, they came out prepared and ready to go. Everyone was on the same page, the offense executed plays pretty well, the defense followed their game plan, and the special teams of the New England Patriots are among the best that NFL has to offer.
Patriots offense was hot for the get-go as they ran a good combination of short passes, screen passes, deep balls and big plays downfield. Brady was on point all night long, and his wide receivers made all plays that they needed for huge gains. Beautiful running on the routes, good catches and the Steelers defense couldn’t do a thing about it.
On defense, the Patriots were able to get safety help on Antonio Brown on almost every play, and they limited him to only 77 yards in this duel. After that pretty dominant performance, the Steelers gave a lot of the credit to the Patriots and their game plan.
Tom Brady finished the match 32/42 for 384 yards and three touchdowns with no picks. His favorite target by far was Chris Hogan who had a game of his life with nine receptions for 180 yards and two trips to the end zone on two monster gain plays. Edelman was pretty active as well as he had eight catches for 118 yards and he also scored one.
Now, the Patriots will be traveling to Houston in two weeks time to face the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl LI. A crew from Atlanta also showed amazing performance, and without a doubt, this will be another fantastic game.
