With the release of Mr. Robot, the USA network’s scripted stable received its new centerpiece. The drama-thriller TV series was praised on various occasions, especially for “its realistic and accurate depiction of hacking and IT security.” It was also noted that “most of the scenes are top class and the usage of tools, operating systems and other tiny details, from social engineering to opsec is very good.”
The first season of Mr. Robot premiered in June 2015 on USA Network, and after only one year, the series won awards at the 2016 Golden Globes Awards and 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards. Furthermore, it has received several nominations for the 2017 Golden Globes Awards.
The drama has already proved to be the perfect reflection of current affairs and some people even described it as being “ahead of its time,” but we expect even greater success after the Season 3 release. We have found out that the upcoming sequel will at some point be directly connected to the first one. Let’s just say you will remember and perhaps go back to that tagline “Our Democracy Has Been Hacked.” Why? Well, you’ll figure it out by yourselve soon enough.
As for the Mr. Robot cast, most of the former crew members will return for the new episodes, but there will be some new actors, as well. For the time being, we know for sure that Bobby Cannavale (known for Boardwalk Empire and Vinyl) will join the cast and make an appearance as Irving, a car salesman. In addition to this, B. D. Wong’s character Whiterose will receive more attention from now on, which is something many people expected to happen even earlier, given the fact that he is one of the most important antagonists in the series.
Mr. Robot Season 3 Release Date
Mr. Robot Season 3 was first expected to see the light of day in the summer this year, but the release date was eventually shifted and is now set for October 2017. Chris McCumber, the President at USA Network Inc., confirmed the news saying: “We’re eager to share the next phase of Elliot’s journey with fans this fall.”
