The next Smackdown Live pay per view is going to be Money In The Bank that is going to take place in June. That match is always one of the most exciting events of the year as the winner is getting a guaranteed title shot whenever he wants it. At any moment, he can get in the ring, cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase and enter the title match with the champion.
It is an unfair advantage but a one that a guy that wins a 6-man ladder battle deserves for sure. On the first edition of Smackdown Live after the Backlash pay per view, the writers didn’t waste any time, and they already booked six guys that are going to fight for the championship opportunity. It is going to be Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler. Three heels and three babyfaces, just like it is supposed to be.
Right now, it seems that Baron Corbin is a clear-cut favorite to win the title. Cashing in MITB briefcase and getting that unfair advantage is more of a heel tactic than something that the babyface would usually do. There were faces that won this match before, the most recent example of that was Dean Ambrose winning it last year and cashing in right away after Seth Rollins beat Roman Reigns in the main event of the same pay per view.
It is a no secret that the company has big plans for Baron Corbin later in the year so him being a favorite to win this match is pretty understandable. Shinsuke Nakamura might be the darkhorse here, while it is unlikely that Kevin Owens is going to end up victorious as he is already the US Champion. It is one of the most interesting concepts in today’s WWE, and it is going to be fun to see all these guys battling for the prize.
