The last episode of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries was released on June 26, 2015, and it left the audience only craving for more. However, the next sequel has not been premiered still despite that The Doctor Blake Mysteries, Jack Irish, Rake, Janet King, and The Code have already been renewed back in 2015.
Taking into account the major success the show has achieved, it comes under no question whether it will have its next installment in the foreseeable future or not. We could tell that it will come out sometime in 2017, having the release date of its last season in mind.
Besides its immense success among the fans, the series went well with the critics, and it won the 2012 Screen Music Awards and Australian Production Design Guild Awards, 2013 as well as 2014 AACTA Awards and Logie Awards.
Costume designers have been working very hard and have done a great job with costumes. You can only assume how much effort, material, and imagination were required in order to dress a rich woman who likes to change and always look absolutely fabulous in 1920s’ Melbourne. One of the costume designers, Marion Boyce, is known for winning the 2014 AACTA Award for Best Costume Design in Television.
“As soon as I put on Phryne’s clothes, I can adopt Phryne poses and promenade, and make an entry, feel confident and audacious. They just make me feel so good that I get away with things I could never pull off in my everyday life,” stated Essie Davis on taking on a role of Miss Fisher in the series.
In honor of Miss Fisher fashion, the Old Government House, Parramatta organized “The Miss Fisher’s Costume Exhibition” from March 1 to June 19, 2016. There, you were able to see once more all the clothes worn by Essie Davis and Jack Robinson (Nathan Page) and Aunt Prudence (Miriam Margolyes).
