We are at the half-way point of the NBA season right now. We already know which teams are the real deal and which teams are on the decline. The same can be said for the players. There are some guys that have impressed us the most and exceeded everybody’s expectation. Those players will be in the running for the Most Improved Player award.

Kristaps Porzingis – New York Knicks – His team is not having the best season, but he has been pretty good up to this point. His point average has increased from just over 14 PPG to just below 20 PPG. His field goal percentage is also up. New York Knicks have a big piece to their future in Kristaps, and they need to do everything that they can in order for him to be in the best position to succeed.

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks – Greek Freak is on his way to his first All-Star game. It looks like he is going to make it as a starter. We can only say that it’s well deserved after this amazing first-half of the season that he has had. Giannis is proving that he, along with Jabari Parker, presents the best chance for a Bucks’ successful future. At this moment they might not have the best score and definitely are not the best team in the league, but this guy certainly moved his game to another level.

WINNER: Isaiah Thomas – Boston Celtics – He was an All-Star last season, but he wasn’t as good as he is this year. As a matter of fact, he made a huge leap this year as he is averaging over 28 PPG. He is 6th on the MVP ladder as of right now and is the fourth best scorer in the whole NBA while leading the Eastern Conference in scoring. Thomas is the winner of mid-season MIP award.
