Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 630 has been priced at £89.95 for the UK markets and will be available for sale beginning May 29, according to the announcement made by Microsoft. Nokia Lumia 630, the first device running on the new Windows 8.1 OS, has been launched last week in few parts of Asia. Moto E device has been recently announced in UK and Lumia 630 will compete with it. Moto E has the advantage of 1GB RAM over Lumia 630 while the internal storage of 8GB is a plus point of Lumia 630 over Moto E.
Heavily loaded with features
Lumia 630 has a ClearBlack IPS LCD screen that is 4.5 inches large and has a resolution of 854x480px with protection offered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.The device is powered with a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC processor with internal storage of 8GB that is expandable up to 128GB with the help of microSD cards. The device does not come with a front camera and the rear camera is 5 MP without flash. The device has a RAM of 512MB.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) had developed Windows Phone 8.1 operating system keeping in view the optimization as the key priority so that the lower-end handsets could make use of it including those whose RAM is just half a gig. The Windows Phone 8.1 OS would run smoothly on the new Lumia device, but there are few apps and games that need a RAM of at least 1GB and hence would not be supported by the device.
Minor limitations of Lumia 630 device
According to Conor Pierce, VP of Microsoft Devices for the UK & Ireland, “The Nokia Lumia 630 offers great apps and high end technology which all run seamlessly under the beautiful Windows phone 8.1 interface. This is a great product for our customers, providing a premium experience at an affordable price point. In our opinion, this is the best smartphone in its price range on the market today.”
Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 630 boasts of the fastest 3G connectivity, but it is not upgradable to a faster 4G device. The dual SIM version of the device will not be launched in UK. Those customers who wish to buy a faster 4G device are required to wait for the 635 that will be launched in UK, but the exact timing is yet unknown.
