Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has released its new video game Halo: Spartan Strike on Windows 8 OS, Windows Phone 8 OS, iPhone, iPad and Steam. This spinoff of the popular Halo series follows Halo: Spartan Assault, the game that was released last year.
Microsoft Studios has created the game in collaboration with 343 Industries and Vanguard games. Users can download the game for the supported platforms. The price for Halo: Spartan Strike is set at $5.99. The game is available for digital download. The game does not feature any in-game purchases, a relief to players. It features 30 challenging missions that are set in different environments like cities and jungles. New weapons and vehicles are available along with signature Halo series accessories. The Windows version of the game features weekly challenges that allow users to compete for position on the Leaderboard.
At the same time, the company has released the Halo: Spartan Bundle. The bundle includes Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike. It is available at $9.99. The Spartan bundle is available for download on iPhone, iPad, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and steam. Halo: Spartan Assault is a top down shooter game. This game features 30 missions against the covenant. The users will be able to discover the origins of the Spartan Ops program. The users are able to customize their warriors.
The sequel Halo: Spartan Strike features the same style and concept of the original. However, the pacing of the game is better. Some users reported that the audio of this new game is remarkable. The games available in the Spartan bundle are top down shooter games unlike the first person shooter games of the series. According to sources, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was planning to launch this game last year, exclusively for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms. However, the company delayed the launch to make it available for more platforms.
The launch of this new game for iPhone and iPad is a part of a broader strategy of the company to release its flagship products on multiple platforms. The company has released its Office applications for iOS in the past. We can surely hope that the Halo: Spartan Strike enjoys the same success on iOS.
