Detroit was victorious in Week 5 against the Eagles and are looking to ride that momentum. They will play on their home field yet again this Sunday and a chance to get to .500 record. Rams are the team that has a better record in the season so far, but they are still the underdogs.
This Lions team is counting on Matthew Stafford. If he plays well, this team has a shot to win every game. This man is one of the most underrated signal callers in the NFL. Really strong arm, probably the strongest in the NFL, can carry this squad on any given Sunday. He will be facing solid Rams defense but should be able to play with efficiency against them in this duel.
Rams offense is ranked dead last at this moment. They have made some improvements on the offensive side of the ball in the last couple of weeks. But in reality, Todd Gurley is all they have on offense. They haven’t won their games by being stellar on offense. Rams are a defensive team, and that’s why they were successful in three of the five games that they played.
It’s just hard to imagine that Los Angeles will defeat Detroit this week. One of the scenarios where this could happen is to see Lions beating themselves and handing the game to the Rams, but we don’t think that will be the case. Keenum will be average for the Rams but will make some mistakes. Gurley will have a monster game to match Stafford’s great performance. But, in the end, Lions will prevail in this duel. The final score of 30:17 in favor of the home team sounds about right.
