Dallas Cowboys successfully bounced back after the Broncos defeat with a win in Arizona. They had a short week to rest and are hoping that this won’t affect their performance, and hopes for a winning streak. Their Sunday opponent, Los Angeles Rams had more days of rest after a close 41-39 win over 49ers on Thursday Night. Taking into account, that both of these teams are stronger on offense than on defense, we can expect a high scoring match in week 4.
The game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Both teams are entering this matchup standing at a 2-1 score. Despite a positive start from Rams, and excellent form of their QB Jared Goff, the early favorites are the Cowboys (-7.5). Nevertheless, 86% of the people who have bets on this game have put their money on the Rams.
On last Thursday the Rams together with 49ers had surprised everyone with their unexpected high scoring duel. Goff had a fantastic game with 292 yards and two TDs. Sammy Watkins acquired from Bills, and Robert Woods also had a good outing. But, the best player on the night was their RB Todd Gurley who amassed 113 yards with two touchdowns. The offense was on fire, but defensively they have allowed 332 passing yards and 39 points, against not so impressive San Francisco 49ers offense. Rams will need to do much better against Cowboy’s premium offense if they are to pull anything out of Sunday’s game.
The Dallas Cowboys, on the other side, had a slow start in Arizona until Dak Prescott took the reins. He had a few monster plays which include a running touchdown where jumped over two opponents, and a long-throw touchdown to Brice Butler among others. Cowboys QB finished the game with 183 passing, 16 running yards, and two touchdowns.
Another player that improved vastly after Broncos game was Ezekiel Elliott. Arizona Cardinals have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL, but Elliott managed to snatch 80 yards anyway. When Cowboys rushing attack functions well, they typically win the games. It is most reassuring that Rams fare badly against the rush. After the first three matches, they allow 139 yards per game which ranks them 29th in the league. They also gave six running TD’s which is the worst stat in the league. If they fail to improve on that, this should be an easy Cowboys win.
