It is part of the season when there is no margin for errors. Any team that wants a chance for a playoff, or even wildcard spot this season needs to start a winning streak. The Thanksgiving Day primetime is reserved for a Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys duel. Both teams set their sight at a playoff spot, but there are many factors involved. Cowboys currently have a better score (5-5) than Chargers (4-6). But, Los Angeles crew has a more comfortable schedule. Also, AFC has less competition for playoff spots compared to the NFC. The team which losses this game, can almost certainly say goodbye to the postseason.
The Cowboys currently stand at a 5-5 score, and things don’t look all that great for the America’s Team. In last two matches, they have combined for 16 points. On the offensive side of the ball, they have a complete blockade. Running game is nonexisting while Prescott now passes more to the opposition players than to his receivers. The defense without Sean Lee can’t hold itself together, and they have allowed 64 points combined in the last two matches. They have also played two last games without their star RB Ezekiel Elliott, and have four more left to go until his return. And, he was missed. Cowboys backup running backs just don’t have the quality to compensate his absence. In order for their playoff hopes to stay alive a win vs. Chargers is imperative.
Los Angeles Chargers started the season with four straight losses, and their season looked domed. But their lousy streak was more a case of misfortune, than the lack of quality. Four of their six defeats were by a field goal difference or less. In the midtime, they have collected four wins, with their last coming in away game in Buffalo. They have demolished home side by 54-24. In the process, they have had five interceptions. With Cowboys struggling with their passing game, Chargers defense will look to add to their ‘interception’ tally. Phillip Rivers led his team with 250 passing yards and two touchdowns and will be eager to tear into Cowboys weak defense.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys Week 12 Predictions
With both teams coming into this match in a short week, there isn’t clear favorite. The over/under border is set on 47.5. The Chargers will have confidence coming into this duel after holding their own in OT loss vs. Jaguars, and a blowout win against Bills. The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, are coming into this clash after two heavy straight defeats, with their team beaten up on both sides of the ball. The freshness of the players won’t be a factor despite the fact that Cowboys played their game few hours after the Chargers. We predict Chargers WIN 27 – 20.
