87 – The Airbnb scam

You are all familiar with the Airbnb and what they offer. Well, thanks to scammers you just might pay your next hotel at your desired destination and arrive there only to end up with the hosts that never heard of you. Yes, nothing is sacred anymore. With this scam, criminals will message you pretending to be a real host and ask for you to pay the cost of reservation but it will be off-site or even worse through an email. Thankfully the real Airbnb saw right through this, and on their official site there is an advice saying “Airbnb will never ask you to pay the cost of a reservation off-site or through email.”
