After nearly a year-long gap of going live on iOS, LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) has rolled out its job search app for Android. The company said that there is hardly any difference in features of Android app from that of its iOS app. Though the interface is similar to that of iOS version but the app is built right from the scratch for Android, claimed the company.

Help find jobs on-the-go

There are some Android specific features such as the use of side tabs. The intention of rolling out an app for Android is simple, to help people search job. Just like iOS app, now LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) will help Android users to search jobs on the go and faster. Android users could filter jobs with location, title, industry, company and level of seniority. Also, users will get job recommendations, which will be based on the job search history data.

Additionally, the app will inform users as and when job listings are close to expiring. LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) also graphically revealed interesting differences between its app users on Android and iOS platform.

Amazing fact-finding

As per the graphics, New York, and California have maximum iOS users, while Android is dominantly used in Georgia, Wisconsin and Florida. Also, Android users tend to send many more invites on LinkedIn while iOS users prefer to stay focused on searches. LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) also surprised all and one with the extent of its fact-finding ability.

The job-search based social platform said that more of the Android users work in IT and programming. On the other hand, it claimed that a major proportion of Apple users is from the field of healthcare management and graphic design.

LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) has made its Job Search app available in English language, which could be downloaded from the Play Store.
