As we found out, Kim Kardashian West got robbed in a luxury residence in Paris by at least two men that were dressed as police officers and held her at gunpoint. This was stated both by her publicist and the police.
The robbery took place at about 02:30 local time (00:30 GMT) and the residence in question is behind Paris’s Madeleine church, and Kim has already stayed here before but without incidents. Apparently, a box which contained around €6 million ($6.7m) was among other things that were taken from her according to a police spokesperson. They also stated that the gunmen were taken to Kim’s residence by the concierge, after which they tied her up in the bathroom. Kim is OK; she isn’t harmed and as her spokeswoman stated she is “badly shaken but physically unharmed.” The US celebrity is already on the flight back from Paris airport.
Ina Treciokas confirmed for CNN that the robbery was indeed carried out by two masked men with guns. Police sources also told the Associated Press news agency that they were seeking five assailants, two of whom had forced their way into the house. Associated Press added that the €4 million ring was among those other thing stolen from her, citing the police officials. “The loss amounts to several million euros, mostly jewelry. The total amount is still being evaluated” stated the police.
While all of this was happening Kim’s stronger side, Kanye West was at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York on stage, and after he received the news, he abruptly stopped the show, excusing himself to the fans saying “I’m sorry, family emergency. I have to stop the show”. As it usually goes people who are unwary how these things happen, why they happen, and what impact they leave on you were making jokes and fun of the situation. This was stopped by TV host James Corden who tweeted this “People making jokes about Kim Kardashian tonight would do well to remember that she’s a mother, a daughter, a wife, a friend. Be nice or shut up”.
The reason for Kim’s visit to Paris was the fashion week, and she was accompanied there by her mother and sister.
