Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930)’s U.S. mobile arm announced the hiring of three executives that will help the company beef up its content and services. The company is looking forward to take on BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB), who is the enterprise mobile rival.

Executives with impressive record
In a press release on Tuesday, it was said by the Dallas based Samsung Telecommunications America LLC that ex-chief information officer of Blackberry (up to 2012), Robin Bienfait, has been hired by it. Bienfait has more than 30 years of experience in mobility, security, business development, enterprise sales, wireless network operations and engineering.
The Korean company wishes to sell more and more devices to governments and businesses and as part of this effort the hiring is being done by the company. The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency has recently added to its list of approved devices five smart phones and tablets of the Samsung Galaxy brand indicating that some employees of the U.S. government agency might use them.
The interactive media unit of Walt Disney was losing money and they had pushed out John Pleasants last year who, now, has been hired by Samsung. The company informed that its U.S. content and services strategy will now be lead by Mr. Pleasants, a former chief executive of Ticketmaster and chief operating officer at Electronic Arts whose main focus would be on existing offers.
Also, Samsung has named Mark Louison as the senior vice president of its wireless-network systems. Louison is a former president of Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V)’s U.S. operations. Previously, this person was responsible for the sale in North America of the Nokia’s network equipment and in February 2011, the Finnish company pushed him out.
