Just a decade ago, it was almost unimaginable that a guy like Kevin Owens can be successful in the WWE. He just doesn’t have the looks that Vince McMahon once wanted his stars to have. He wouldn’t be someone that the boss would have wanted to push in the Ruthless Aggression era. Times do change, fans want something different. This the age of wrestling in which in-ring work needs to be good in order for the superstar to get over with the fans. That is the case with Kevin Owens.
Even though his size might tell you something different, he is pretty quick and agile in the ring. When you combine that with the great heel character that he had portrayed ever since he turned on Sami Zayn back when they were in the NXT, you get a complete wrestler.
Owens is a cocky heel in the ring, but in real life, he is a father, a family man and a guy that has a lot of friends on the main roster. He knows to appreciate a good wrestler. When he was recently asked about the dream match that he would like to have at the grandest stage of them all, Kevin Owens had an interesting answer.
“If you say the past, it’s Shawn Michaels hands down. If you say present, Sami Zayn and I have had such a rich history, I feel like a one-on-one match at WrestleMania would be so perfect. But there’s also Finn Balor. He’s my best friend. He’s probably the one guy if I could sit across from in the ring at Wrestlemania, that would make my career. Finn and I got to WWE at the same time, and we dived into an unknown territory. We gravitated toward each other very quickly. He’s like a brother to me now.”
