Kevin Durant made a lot of noise when he made a move to leave Oklahoma City Thunder in order to join the Golden State Warriors. He abandoned his team to partner with one of the best regular season teams in history so he can become an NBA Champion for the first time in his career.
He had a good situation in Oklahoma City with Russell Westbrook on his squad but decided to leave and pick Stephen Curry over him. Last night he faced his former team for the first time since he left them this summer and he did have a great game. Kevin Durant made a statement and showed that he is still the elite player in the NBA.
Durant shot 15-24 from the field and made seven three-pointers while ending up with 39 points for the match. He also grabbed seven rebounds and made this impressive stat sheet even greater. Russell did have 20 points, but Durant was the story of this game, and he is the one that people will talk about today.
Even though it was exciting to see Westbrook going up against Durant, we just can’t wait to see him back in Oklahoma City when Thunder host the Warriors for the first time in the regular season. The crowd will be on fire for that duel while Russell Westbrook has already circled that date on his calendar eagerly awaiting to host his former teammate.
