The original Jumanji movie came out in 1995, and now, 22 years later, we finally get to see its sequel. Those of you who watched the original probably remember a famous line which says “An adventure for those who seek to find a way to leave their world behind.” Well, we could say that this applies to the sequel, too.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle brings us a world of lifelike safari animals, trees galore, and a jungle-themed party, which sounds promising already, right? But, that’s not all – the movie also stars several great actors, including Kevin Hart, Nick Jonas, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and, of course, Dwayne Johnson.
When asked about the long-awaited project, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Gillan said that “it’s all about the fans really.” More precisely, the actor explained: “You see them out there screaming and you realize that when you make these films, it’s exciting for you on a selfish level, but really all that matters is the audience watching.”
No matter how amazing other actors’ roles are, it could be said that everyone would still like to be The Rock. Nick Jonas, for instance, said: “Being as strong as Dwayne for the day would be exciting. I would just lift stuff all the time, just pick it up and throw it around. It’d be amazing to be that big.” Furthermore, Alex Wolff, who shows up in the role of Spencer Gilpin in the movie, tried to imagine what he would do if he were The Rock for a day, and this guy concluded that, having shown his strength, he would “just look in the mirror and just smolder.” Ser’Darius Blain, on the other hand, had a somewhat different idea. “In the movie, I originally thought I was going to be switching bodies with The Rock, so I’d like to switch with him and see what it’s like to be the most attractive man alive just for one day. I would take out all my money from the bank and go nuts,” the actor admitted.
However, when Kevin Hart was asked the same question, it turned out that not everyone would like to trade lives with Jonson. “I would go with Kevin Hart. He’s a nice guy. Karen, Nick Jonas, Jack Black, myself, we’re the only nice ones,” Kevin said. But, as you can guess, Johnson did not leave it at that. He said: “I would switch bodies with my best friend Kevin Hart. I really would. He works out hard, he’s ambitious, he loves his family, loves his kids. And then I would kill myself.”
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will be released in the United States on December 20, so don’t miss the premiere.
