When two superstars like Tyrese Gibson and Dwayne Johnson are feuding, and a lot is said publicly, it certainly affects entire Fast & Furious family including Jordana Brewster that recently had few things to say about this situation. She was asked to comment about her colleagues while at the Good+ Foundation Halloween Bash in Los Angeles.
While it is obvious that she is not picking any sides, it is also important to say that she wants this to be resolved and family to remain complete. Here is what she said: “I mean, I’m following it on Instagram, too. I think ultimately we’re all a family, we all love working together. So hopefully it’s all going to be OK in the end, but I’m watching like everybody else. It’s just interesting.”
We can agree with Jordana and hope that everything will settle down and that Dwayne Johnson and Tyrese Gibson will be able to work together on the future projects including the sequels that have already been scheduled for F&F franchise. It can be noted that after Furious 7, her character in the movie series has been pretty much removed and that has happened due to the death of Paul Walker so it will be interesting to see if she will be coming back in the future.
Just as a reminder, feud between costars started after The Rock decided to make a spin-off around his character Hobbs (it was proposed by the studio) which would also include Deckard Shaw that is played by Jason Statham. As a result of this move, the next Fast and Furious project release date needed to be moved for about one year, from 2019 to 2024, and Tyrese didn’t like that.
We could saw few posts on social media by Gibson saying Dwayne is selfish, that he has destroyed the F&F family and that it all revolves around him. It is clear that Tyrese is not happy with the announcement of the spin-off, but according to him, it is only because it will postpone next chapter of the franchise.
This is certainly not the first time we could hear about a feud in the F&F family, and the previous one was allegedly between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson when the two giants had few issues how things are done on the set. On that occasion, Tyrese openly supported Vin but also wanted for things to settle down. It is interesting to say that after Gibson attacked Johnson, Vin Diesel reacted and said that no one could be blamed for the postponement of the next chapter and in some way sided with Dwayne.
