Nobody really knew what to expect from Joel Embiid after that foot injury that sidelined this man at the end of his lone season with Kansas Jayhawks and in his first NBA season. Everybody was waiting to see what this guy can do on an NBA level, but we had to wait for a whole another year as injuries just kept piling up.
Now, we finally have the chance to see Embiid play and we can tell that he was worth waiting for. Philly has drafted three big men with high draft picks in the past couple of years, waiting for at least one of them to show some flashes of a future Superstar. Okafor and Embiid have done just that, while Noel looks like a good NBA player.
It seems that these guys turned out to be better than Philly expected and now they have a problem with managing the minutes of these players. One or maybe even two of these three will have to be traded.
The safe one is Joel Embiid. This man is putting up 20 points a game in the past month, and he is under the minute restriction. He played just 23 minutes against the Nets but was able to put up 20 points on the board. When we take a look at his performances, we can say that he is good down on the block, has some range on the jump shot, can put the ball on the floor and make things happen and he is a pretty decent defender for a rookie while being a good rim protector.
This man has the chance to be one of the best players that NBA has to offer. Philly has a great player on their hands. So far, they are putting him in a good position to succeed on the floor. Sixers‘ fans can hope for more of the same in the future.
