As we already reported, the 2017 Geneva Motor Show is underway, and biggest automakers are there to present their models and attract potential customers. Jeep is no different when it comes to that. The company recently presented Grand Cherokee and Wrangler in the Night Eagle guise so as to complete Night Eagle range of vehicles.
All in all, both cars are dominated by black details, and the whole exterior has a sporty but aggressive look.
The Grand Cherokee has black grille surround as well as the platinum chrome mesh grille. That is no surprise since these Night Eagle models are dominated by the dark color. It also has attractive black headlight bezels, 20-inch black gloss aluminum wheels, front lower fascia appliqué and badges. Oh yes, it is almost all black everything.
The cabin of the vehicle brings a similar story. It is equipped with premium Capri black leather wrapped seats with black stitching and perforated suede inserts. The door trim panels and instrument panel are also detailed with anodized gun metal which just adds a flavor of elegance to the car.
Grand Cherokee Engine
Now when it comes to power, under the hood of Grand Cherokee we have a 3.0-liter Multijet II 250 hp diesel engine and also a 3.6-liter V6 286 hp petrol version. They both have an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the wheels. Those customers that are interested in buying one of these can already choose between six color variations. These include Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Rhino, Velvet Red, White and Diamond Black.
The company presented a Billet Silver model during the Geneva Motor Show this year. When it comes to its equipment, it has a standard package which includes Uconnect radio that brings satellite navigation, 8.4-inch touchscreen & Uconnect Live, Bi-Xenon headlights and majestic 506-watt Alpine audio system with 9 speakers and subwoofer. It also features power liftgate, parking sensors on both ends of the car and the Parkview rear backup camera with the dynamic grid.
When it comes to Wrangler Night Eagle version, the principle is pretty much the same. The black gloss details dominate the exterior of the car, it has 18-inch aluminum wheels and rock rails. However, the potential buyers will also have a body color dual top and a new low gloss black decal that is well matched with various hood and rear quarter decals.
Jeep Wrangler Night Eagle Interior
The interior of the car is dominated, again, with the black color. It is equipped with Black McKinley leather seats that have Black Sport mesh fabric inserts and a steering wheel that is wrapped in leather. They both have a Diesel Gray detail stitching which just enhances the overall looks of the vehicle. Features like black vinyl-wrapped console lid, piano black grab handle, black vent ring bezels and front door armrest which is also black just further emphasize the touch of this model’s unique design and looks. The standard equipment features a 6.5’’ touchscreen with AUX & USB ports, the Alpine premium audio system with a subwoofer and again a Uconnect satellite navigation system with CD/DVD/MP3 ports.
The engineers of Jeep put a lot of effort into rear differential of this vehicle. So as to dominate all kinds of terrain, the Wrangler Night Eagle comes with the Trac-Lok limited-spin rear differential which is designed to maintain traction on rough or slippery surfaces such as gravel, snow, ice or sand.
We’ll also mention that there will initially be two options when it comes to engines. Buyers can choose between a 200 hp 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine and a 284 hp 3.6-liter petrol engine. Both of these have an automatic five-speed gearbox. Buyers will also have freedom to choose between eight colors such as Firecracker Red, Black, Bright White, Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Extreme Purple, Rhino and Chief.
These models will be available in Jeep showrooms on European markets later this month.
