Jeep will soon stop producing the ongoing model of the Wrangler, but it has prepared a great sendoff for this generation. The most hardcore version of any car is usually manufactured at the end when there are only enthusiasts left paying attention to that model.
With the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon, the already fantastic off-road vehicle will be even better. Next-generation Jeep Wrangler will be introduced in 2018, and the Rubicon Recon provides a proper sendoff to the current model.
The Recon Edition comes with the upgraded front axle that has stronger tubes and forged ends, while the front and rear differential have heavy-duty cast covers. Jeep designed this model with the shorter rock rails, thus allowing customers to wrap the 35-inch tires around the wheels.
The Recon edition can be easily recognized because of its low-gloss black front grille with Granite Crystal details and the headlights which are embedded into the grille. The bumpers have the satin-finish paint over them, while both front and the rear bumper have removable end caps and Jeep badge. Some of the details such as the tow hook are painted in red color, which is a nice contrast, and although this is a small part, the red color adds life to this car.
The new Jeep’s model has 17-inch wheels painted in Granite Crystal and wrapped in the 32-inch BF Goodrich tires, but as we said, the larger, 35-inch tires are also available. If you want to add aggressiveness to this vehicle, Jeep offers optional dual-vented hood with a black-outlined “Rubicon” decal and fender flares in the same color as the body of the SUV.
Jeep Rubicon Recon has a 3.6-liter V6 engine which is mated to the six-speed manual transmission, but the customers can opt for a five-speed automatic gearbox. The rock crawling feature has been simplified with the electronic-locked front and rear differential.
In the cabin, black leather heated seats which are usually optional became standard, and there are some additional red-colored details inside too, such as seatbelts with matching storage netting and switches. Jeep also added more displays for oil pressure, transmission, coolant temperature, and tire pressure, which helps you get all the needed information really quickly.
