Based on a Disneyland riverboat theme park ride, “Jungle Cruise” is the upcoming adventure movie which is slated to start filming in April next year. With Dwayne The Rock Johnson as one of the main crew members, the title has become quite popular already, so here’s what we know about it so far.
According to Deadline, a well-known Spanish director Jaume Collet-Serra has recently been elected to be at the helm of the project. Not only was he happy to be given such an opportunity, but he actually chose this movie over Suicide Squad 2. Collet-Serra is known for several successful projects, including last year’s thriller “The Shallows,” the action thriller “Run All Night” (2015), together with “Non-Stop” (2014) and “Unknown” (2011). Some of his earlier movies include “Orphan” and “Goal II: Living the Dream.” In addition to Jungle Cruise, the distinguished director is also supposed to direct “The Commuter”, an upcoming mystery thriller which is set to see the light of day in January 2018.
J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay are in charge of the script for Jungle Cruise, while John Davis and John Fox, together with Beau Flynn are the main producers.
Jungle Cruise Cast
When it comes to the cast for this highly-anticipated adventure, what we know for sure for the time being is that Dwayne Johnson will be the part of the movie. Even though he is, without a doubt, one of the busiest actors today, The Rock will still find some time in his busy schedule to work on Jungle Cruise, too. Some of his main current projects include DC comics adaptation “Shazam,” its spinoff “Black Adam,” and “Doc Savage.” In addition to these, Johnson has also been rumored to be working on the “Big Trouble in Little China” remake. Finally, we should not forget to mention that he will make an appearance in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” which will hit theaters in December this year.
As for some specific details about Jungle Cruise, we have to disappoint you and tell you that the plot of the movie is still kept under wraps. But, we promise we will keep you updated, so stay tuned for latest news.
