A mixed reaction to Iron Fist was not in any case expected by Marvel, especially after an enormous success of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Daredevil. Nonetheless, even though its reviews were such, it was Netflix’s most binged drama.
Although no official announcement of Iron Fist Season 2 hasn’t been made yet, it seems that the continuation is inevitable and that the story isn’t over yet. Therefore, nothing about the cast of the second season has been said, but one can make an assumption or two. We can probably expect the same stars to return for the sequel in leading roles, such as Jessica Stroup, Finn Jones, Tom Pelphrey and Jessica Henwick. As far as supporting ones are concerned, we’ll most likely see Rosario Dawson and Wai Ching Ho on the villain side.
Moreover, its plot hasn’t been revealed either, but it certainly depends on what happens to Danny Rand in The Defenders. One of the drawbacks of the first season was that it moved too slow and didn’t focus on action enough.
Furthermore, there are numerous theories regarding the second season and its storyline. Namely, the first season finished off with K’un-Lun’s disappearance, so in the second season we might find out who was behind it. Apart from that, Danny might get a few more enemies other than The Hand or the Meachums.
As far as Iron Fist Season 2 trailer is concerned, we are far from it, since nothing about its renewal has been said yet, but a small clip from The Defenders was released by Netflix. We could catch a glimpse of Danny’s interacting with the remaining Defenders for the first time.
Iron Fist Season 2 Release Date
As previously mentioned, there isn’t an official release date for the sequel of Iron Fist. Nonetheless, we can assume that due to some other projects, such as The Defenders on Aug. 18, The Punisher wrapping up and Daredevil Season 3 that is planned for the end of this year, we cannot expect Season 2 earlier than late 2018 or even 2019.
