Sprint Corp. (NYSE:S) announced that customers can upgrade their iPhones anytime for only $22 per month through its special promotion called iPhone Forever.
According to Sprint, customers who don’t have the latest iPhone are eligible to upgrade their device to the latest model anytime starting today.
The stock price of Sprint gained more than 10% to $4.64 per share primarily due to its iPhone Forever promo.
Sprint customers can get 16GB iPhone 6
The iPhone Forever promo is available to any eligible Sprint rate plan, and the upgrade eligibility is always included in the customer’s price. Qualified customers will be able get a 16GB iPhone 6 at Sprint stores, Sprint.com, 1-800-Sprint-1, Best Buy, and Target.
Additionally, existing Sprint customers or from other wireless carriers eligible for an upgrade can trade-in any smartphone, and they will get a promotional rate of just $15 per month on a new iPhone until December 31, 2015. They can obtain a 16 GB iPhone 6.
According to Sprint, customers who will upgrade their iPhone after December 31, their monthly lease rate returns will be $22 per month, the current lease pricing. Those who will trade-in their smartphones before December 31 will enjoy the discount price of $15 until their next upgrade.
In a statement, Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said, “We asked ourselves, what could we do that would move our customers forward with the latest and greatest technology every day? We decided: how awesome would it be if anytime customers don’t have the latest iPhone, they are eligible to upgrade, and have it be as simple as handing us your existing iPhone and picking up a new one – all included in your monthly rate.”
iPhone Forever: three key steps
- Get a 16GB iPhone 6 model for $22 (or the $15 special promotional price with trade-in) when you activate on any individual unlimited plan or family share pack plan.
- Upgrade to the latest iPhone by the end of the year and keep the $15 a month special promotion price.
- At your next upgrade, the monthly cost is $22 (excludes taxes and service plan charges.)
Customers who are stucked with other carriers who want to transfer to Sprint have nothing to worry. Sprint will pay off their old iPhones and contract for them to switch carriers.
