Apple managed to stick to the calendar end earlier this month they presented new iPhone 7. Moreover, at the event other gadgets such as the modern Apple Watch were also displayed, but the phone stole the show mostly because of the design and power changes. The iPhone 7 followed its predecessor 6S and it also came in a Plus size. The most controversial decision, as it seems, is the removal of the headphone jack from iPhone 7 Plus. Apple decided to eliminate this 3.5mm jack from the phone and now the iPhone 7 Plus will have only one universal port for all connectivity needs, comparing to the iPhone 6S Plus who has two ports.
However, you will be able to connect your headphones with the port adapter that will be shipped with the phone itself. Although this change may not be to everyone’s liking, at least Apple users know what to expect.
Apple will sell wireless earphones know as AirPods and it is estimated that the sound of the music on iPhone 7 Plus will be of better quality than the sound on iPhone 6S Plus, because of an extra speaker.
The main and one of the largest differences is that the iPhone 6S Plus is not water resistant, whereas iPhone 7 Plus can survive in one meter of water for 30 minutes.
Anyway, the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 6S Plus have identical dimensions. Both are 3.07 inches wide, 6.32 inches tall and the depth is 0.29 inches. Furthermore, screens of both phones are IPS LCD. They are like to peas in a pod with 5.5 inches and the resolution is 1,920 by 1,080 pixels. iPhone 6S Plus weighs 6.77 ounces which is 0.14 ounces heavier than the new model. This isn’t much of a difference and when you hold the iPhones in your hand it is really hard to tell which is heavier.
Also, there are some differences in color. Both phones come in standard colors – silver, gold and rose gold. However, iPhone 6S Plus can be found in gray, whereas iPhone7 Plus is available in black and jet black.
A lot of characteristics are similar and it is hard to estimate which iPhone is the better one. Both phones have comparable colors, measurements and characteristics. Although the removal of headphone jack from the iPhone 7 Plus is not the best move, coming up with the adapter slightly accommodates for it. Nonetheless, because of the water resistance and the better sound quality, we must give an advantage to the iPhone7 Plus, but whichever you choose, you won’t make a mistake.
