And so it begins. When some of the rookies report for the training camp, you know that the NFL season is about to begin. All of the things that happened before the training camp are just some preparations and tune ups that teams do every single year. When the camp starts, you know that the battles for some roster spots are about to take place. For a lot of players, this is the most important time of the year as their jobs are on the line.
One of the most interesting camp duels and for sure the one that all the Dallas Cowboys fans will be watching is Cole Beasley going up against Ryan Switzer. Dak Prescott loved to throw the ball to slot receiver Cole Beasley last season as he was targeted 98 times – the most out of any wide receiver that Dallas Cowboys have. He showed up last year and was a big part of what the Dallas Cowboys were able to do a season ago.
On the other hand, we have Ryan Switzer, a rookie slot wideout that has been more than interesting to watch this offseason. Reporters are saying that Switzer has nailed down all the routes this offseason and that he has been running them perfectly. He also plays a similar position just like Cole Beasly and can become an evolved version of him, something similar to Julian Edelman and Wes Welker situation that took place in New England.
Switzer will also be used as a special teamer, but the time will tell whether or not these two will play together or will one beat out other for the spot.
