Infiniti has wanted to produce an electric vehicle for a while, and it appears that they are finally going to do so. The company has been kind of undecided about their electric vehicle. They presented the electric LE concept and Emerg-e concept in Geneva and New York City in 2012 and ever since then we have had nothing but rumors.
A new report says the Infiniti is finally ready to move their car into the production. Most of all, their opinion was influenced by the demands of electric vehicles from China. The China has apparently become the largest market in the world regarding plug-in electric cars.

The company president Roland Krueger said: ““When I think about EV, we design it for China definitely. We are discussing this internally constantly what is the right timing for Infiniti to have such vehicles.”
The first Infiniti EV production vehicle would go on sale in China. This comes as no surprise since the company is relocated to Hong Kong. However, we don’t know anything about the production EV and we can only speculate.
The LE concept contains the electric motor that produces 134 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the concept is equipped with a 24-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The Emerg-e produces up to 400 hp, which is a lot more than the LE.
We don’t know anything about the production Infiniti, but Krueger says that it should hit the market “very fast”. Stay tuned for more details.
