The employees at IBM have the option to choose between PC or Mac and believe it or not most of them go with the Mac. So what this means for the company? Are they going to spend a lot of money in order to integrate Macs?
According to Fletcher Previn, the VP of Workplace as a Service, this transition will not affect the budget too much. He attended the Jamf Nation User Conference where he declared that the company had already received more than 90,000 Macs and that transition had started in the middle of last year and it would last for quite some time.
As the company official declared every employee can save from $273 to $543 depending on a model they opt for. Just imagine how many employees this corporation has and how much money they can save, just by getting rid of the PC.
Previn said: “And this reflects the best pricing we’ve ever gotten from Microsoft”. Moreover, he added that so far 73 percent of the employees who use computers have decided that their next machine will be a Mac.
At this rate, by the end of the year, the company will have had more than 100,000 Macs. This makes them one of most significant customers for Apple. Just for the record, about 1,300 new devices reaches company every week.
Previn also declared:“The shortest distance to engaging employees is what’s in their hand or what’s on their desk. Every Mac we buy is, in fact, continuing to make and save IBM money.”
This is a dramatic hit for the Microsoft especially since they are struggling to persuade people to move to Windows 10. On the other hand, Apple officials are probably satisfied, not only because of this purchase, but also because some minor companies might follow this giant and move from PC to Mac.
