Having already introduced sedan and hatchback body styles, Hyundai will add a wagon to the range, and that version will be unveiled at 2017 Geneva Auto Show.
Korean automaker still has not confirmed whether this vehicle will be sold in the US, however, if they opt to offer it here it is speculated that the model will be called Elantra Touring. The previous Elantra Touring left the market after the year 2012.
Considering other markets, this car will be known as i30 Tourer. It will face some affordable compact wagons like Opel Astra Sports Tourer, Ford Focus Wagon, and Volkswagen Golf SportWagen as competitors. When it comes to size and offered space, it is in line with main rivals. Total length is 180.5 inches, and with the rear seats folded cargo expands to a maximum of 58.2 cubic feet.
It is almost identical, mechanics-wise, to the i30 hatchback known in the US as the redesigned version of an Elantra GT. Buyers will have a choice when it comes to engine lineup as there will be gasoline and diesel units on offer. Two turbocharged petrol units include 1.0-liter inline-3 and 1.4-liter I4 with 118 horsepower and 138 horsepower respectively.
When it comes to premium elements, the car will have a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, LED headlights and many electronic driver aids such as pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist and driver alertness warning.
