Lately a lot of attention has been pointed toward Huawei and their new Honor 9 that is supposed to be launched in a little while now. The latest news we came across is that June 20 or 21st is the likely release date while its pricing will be set somewhere around $362 and for that amount of cash you will get a Kirin 960 chipset, 4 GB/6 GB of RAM and 32/64 GB of internal storage.
The camera has been speculated a lot recently, and the most recent info is that it could sport another dual cam setup with 22 MP in the back + 12 MP at the front. The battery capacity could be 3,000 mAh, so if you even considered the Honor 8 maybe you should hold on a little while and see if the Honor 9 floats your boat.
Apple’s latest endeavors regarding waterproofing and removing the 3.5 mm jack seems to be followed by other phone makers. Just for instance the Xiaomi just updated its Mi 6, and now we are getting a waterproof and 3.5 mm jack-less smartphone which actually doesn’t look half as bad. This is something that is also expected next from Huawei and their Honor 9, at least according to these leaked images (yet unconfirmed though).
The easiest way to make the smartphone waterproof is to ditch that pesky (but lovable and quite useful) 3.5 mm jack, but you can’t do that and not angry a part of your buyers. Samsung found a way to make their phones waterproof and keep the jack present, but the most effective and cheapest way is just to delete the thing totally especially on the smartphones that do not cost that much.
What seems to have made its way from Honor 8 to Honor 9 is the 8’s Smart Key feature and the layout of other buttons, that also appears to be unchanged. Which one is actually better is an individual thing, and the decision will not be easy, that is for sure.
