“Horizon: Zero Dawn” is an upcoming video game developed by Guerrilla Games which has been talked about since it was announced last year, but the developer has recently decided to reveal more about the game at the PlayStation Experience 2016. Hermen Hulst, the managing director of Guerrilla Games, and John Gonzalez, the game’s writer, provided the “inside look at the world of Horizon Zero Dawn and the lore and machines that define it” in a panel discussion. Furthermore, they also said something about the game development, from the very beginning of the process up to the present phase.
The developers have admitted that they were having second thoughts about carrying out this project at first since they were aware of the fact that it was rather ambitious and risky. Game Spot reports that the main problem they were worried about was making new IP. However, they eventually decided to find a way to cope with this “difficult” task and develop the new role-playing video game. In addition to this, the company had to opt for one of the two projects they had in mind, one of which, of course, was the forthcoming title.
Having chosen “Horizon: Zero Dawn,” Guerrilla Games had to face a couple of difficulties, such as finding new developers and enabling the open-world environment. Finally, the company revealed something about the game’s concept art, and, according to Kotaku, they confirmed their cooperation with Kojima Productions.
When it comes to more specific details about the actual story and gameplay of “Horizon: Zero Dawn,” Guerrilla Games refused to reveal much for the time being. What we know is that the title is set in a post-apocalyptic world which is ruled by robots, Machines and that the main character is Aloy, a girl who fights these mechanical creatures after the fall of the civilized world.
