Honda starts a new advertisement campaign called “Racing at Heart” and they want to show the experience gathered in the world of motorsports and how it is put to good use in the company’s vehicles. The inaugural spot highlights Honda’s involvement in the Red Bull Global Rallycross, Verizon IndyCar Series and desert truck racing. After that, the Japanese automaker switched to the cars that can be bought by anyone and they displayed the Ridgeline pickup, the Civic Type R and the Civic Si.
One might have expected the Honda-powered McLaren MCL32 that competes in F1 in the commercial but don’t sit there wondering why that didn’t happen. The vehicle has given nothing but poor performance and even after five races, the McLaren-Honda is in the last spot with zero points. This may prompt Fernando Alonso to go to the US and race in this month’s Indianapolis 500m, but Jenson Button will be behind the wheel of his F1 car, and Belgian rookie Stoffel Vandoorne will occupy his seat during the Monaco GP.
Meanwhile, the Honda Civic Si can be purchased in the US for $24,775 in both sedan and hatchback form. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 205 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. The unit is connected to a six-speed manual that sends power to the front wheels.
If you want to buy a Civic but go faster with it, you will have to wait for the spring to come because that is when this company plans to launch the Type R in the US. This version of the Civic will be more expensive, and it is expected to cost somewhere in the mid-$30,000 range. However, the Honda Civic Type R has a 2.0-liter powerplant under the hood that generates 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, but it is also combined with a six-speed manual gearbox. There will be a more affordable version which will have the same engine but fewer features.

In the commercial that lasts for 30 seconds, you can also briefly see the Honda Ridgeline which has won the 2017 North American Truck of the Year award. This model sports a V6 engine under the hood and has a starting price of $29,475.
