Haven Season 6 Cancelled

Due to continuously low ratings, the supernatural drama “Haven” was eventually canceled after five seasons. The series is somewhat based on Stephen King’s novel “The Colorado Kid” and, just like the novel, it was well-received at the beginning. As time went by, it was less and less popular, so, in the end, Syfy network decided to pull the plug on the drama and invest in a project which has better chances of making a profit.

Haven stars Emily Rose, Nicholas Campbell, Lucas Bryant and Eric Balfour in main roles, but there is also a long list of cast members who appeared from time to time in different seasons and episodes. All these actors together did a great job, but, according to Variety, fans eventually got bored by the storyline of the series.

Even though the drama was canceled by Syfy, its showrunner, Gabrielle Stanton, still believes that some other network might be interested in picking up “Haven” and renewing it for Season 6. “I’m sure that [the show’s production companies] eOne and Piller/Segan/Shepard are out there looking at that option, which is out there now. It’s so cool, that that option now exists where it never used to. I can’t speak to it personally because I’m not involved in those discussions,” Stanton said once. Furthermore, he added: “Sam and Jim created this whole universe that I think you could do it for years and years and years. It’s just such a great canvas that you can lay any characters you want over it.”

That being said, we can reach a conclusion that Stanton, together with the rest of the Haven crew, would be more than happy to come back and work on the series again. As you can see, he claims there is still enough material to make more episodes which would be intriguing enough for the audience, so, who knows, maybe his desire will come true. What remains to be seen is whether some other network will decide to pick up the drama. We’ll let you know as soon as we find out.
