Haganai is a television anime adaptation of the Japanese light novel series also called Haganai. The writer of this novel is Yomi Hirasaka, while it was illustrated by Buriki. The producer of this series is AIC Build Studio and the first season aired between October 7, 2011, and December 23, 2011, and had 12 episodes in total.
The second season called Haganai NEXT had the same number of chapters, and it was aired from January 11, 2013, to March 29, 2013, which means that the fans have been waiting for the next season for more than four years. The director of the TV series was Hisashi Saito while the show was written by Tatsuhiko Urahata.
Both the manga and the series received nothing but positive reviews from the fans all around the world, who are now waiting for the sequel. Millions of fans want to see Kodaka Hasegawa, Yozora Mikazuki, and the Neighbors club again and when the season two ended, it left many questions unanswered.
This show will not be canceled because of its popularity, and the show creators managed to earn a lot of money. But something is fishy here. How come we have been waiting for more than four years for the next season?
The anime is successful mostly because many people can relate to the story. Kodaka Hasegawa has no friends because of his looks, and this is something many kids go through in their lives. According to the reports, the story of the first season covered first four volumes of the light novel while the second season used those from 5th to 8th volume.
The real reason why the creators stopped producing Haganai is the lack of content because the light novel currently has 11 volumes and 8 have already been used. The 11th volume was published in August 2015. So, can we expect the third season soon? As soon as the light novel gets its 12th volume, the creators will continue making the show. Stay tuned for the official announcement because the Haganai Season 3 will possibly arrive this fall.
