Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) popular mobile operating system Lollipop 5.0, will see Google Search available as voice commands. Currently limited number of tabs can be commanded to toggle, like the Flashlight, Wi-Fi. But more advanced tabs such as NFC or Data are yet to be recognized for toggle commands.
Traces of work Google Inc was doing to incorporate advanced voice commands in Google search were available as early as 2014, when toggles could be set. The limited feature was incomplete in many ways, and was more of a shortcut which could open the settings panel. At that point of testing, the feature was limiting because the actual change could happen only when fingers could actually make the change. It was quicker if one used the traditional drop down quick settings to operate the toggle.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) will, with version 5.0 of Lollipop offer the best of these toggles, without have to resort to Command or others. Users will soon be able to use voice command to set these toggles working.
Therefore, simple toggles that required nimble use of fingers, such as turning on or off of Wifi, Bluetooth or Flashlight have been tested in Google Now. A voice command to toggle is first confirmed verbally, before the action begins to enfold magically. A card with a small toggle will help control changes to commands.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) voice commands for Google Search are expected to be used extensively when situations do not allow the quick use of the drop-down. Again, it is a tool to fall back-on, when users are away from the phone.
As users begin to experiment with Voiced Google Search, they have been able to garner assured toggles for some of the commands tabs – Location, Airplane mode, Volume, Brightness.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is yet to offer the new Google Search version for Kitkat.
