Cutting out Graphics Interchange Format or GIF from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s YouTube videos is a common practice, and there are hundreds of websites offering a dedicated service for it. But, now YouTube is all set to reign the space as it decides to roll out its own built-in GIF maker. As of now, the service is restricted to few videos and appears to be under an experimental phase.
Easy To Use
Currently, the functionality is available on few channels like PBS Idea Channel, where a user could click the share button and do the GIF. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s YouTube has tried to make the feature simple in use.
One could select share button and choose start and end points, which will let one create GIF along with enabling setting of captions. Some of the early users of this new feature find it extremely fast, as it is hosted by YouTube itself. Currently, the maximum length for GIF is six seconds. YouTube also gives handy link and a code to help embed the created GIF on websites.
Holiday Gift
It is difficult to say as to what are the plans of Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s YouTube with GIF creator. But it looks that the feature will soon be available across the site. Probably one should now be prepared to see their browsers flooded with moving images.
The offering is yet another one of the YouTube’s gift to the users ahead of the holidays.
The company has already been in the news for its offering of offline mode in India. YouTube has provided an offline mode to its mobile app, where users can download the video and watch it without having the need to connect to the internet. The videos will stay for up to 48 hours to be viewed. The whole plan is an ad-supported initiative by YouTube.
