Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has its eyes on providing technology products and services to everyone.
Earlier this week, Google launched its two flagship Smartphones, the Nexus 6P made by Huawei and the Nexus 5X manufactured by LG. The company also launched two new Chromecast gadgets and the Pixel C, a hybrid laptop (can be transformed into a tablet). The company’s CEO, Sundar Pichai pointed out that it has been a very busy year for the company because of the many new products that Google has launched so far.
The new offerings are part of the software and technology giant’s mission to provide a wide range of consumer electronics and services that will draw customers closer to its search service. The company’s busy nature extends to the decision to restructure its organizational hierarchy. Most of the company ventures and activities will soon be under the Alphabet name. At least that is what the company will be listed as in the financial markets.
Google’s strategies have been extremely beneficial to the company because the revenues have been over the roof. In fact, the strategies have worked so well that the European Commission is investigating the company for malpractices in its mobile devices and services. Google’s Android OS has been experiencing phenomenal success. Android devices occupy 80% of the mobile devices in the world.
The company is also making its presence felt in the growing online streaming industry with offerings such as Android TV and Chromecast. The recent devices launched on Tuesday included a Chromecast Audio streaming device and an upgraded Chromecast TV dongle.
The company has also ventured into the Internet of Things with gadgets developed to turn a regular home into a smart connected hub. Some of the IoT products include The Nest smoke detector and a thermostat that offer more safety to homes in addition to connectivity.
The company is however not limited in terms of its products and services offerings. Google already has a solid position in the tech industry where the competition is unforgiving.
