Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has added new features to its Chromebox for Meetings video conferencing to make it more business friendly. The company will roll out its updated models to United Kingdom, as well as, Japan after launching it in the United States, Canada and New Zealand.
More business friendly
Users can avail the integrated features of the Chromebox besides inviting the people to meetings within their calendar. Also, those who do not have Chromebox can participate in the meeting through their Gmail account. For those, who want to join the meeting thorough a phone can do so with UberConference.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has not revealed the price of the entire system, but it is known that an additional $250/year management fee covers the SLA agreement and future software updates.
Hangout gets an update
There was no significant revelation about the hardware besides the Dell Chromebox. However, the company did inform that those who prefer to conduct their meetings at home with friends, Google service, now, supports personal calendar integration. Rival video conferencing app Skype is highly preferred for video calls, but Hangouts are easier for group chats and Google definitely wants to materialize on it.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has also made its Hangout app more business convenient by updating various features. Irrespective of the Google+ account, all Google customers can now access Hangout. This way Google adds more than 5 million businesses that rely on Google Apps for their businesses. The terms and conditions of the Google hangout will also be the same as other apps such as Gmail, Doc and Drive. Also, the Hangout customers will get business support like 24×7 phone service
Just like any other business app from Google. Now up to 15 participants can join the Hangout at once.
Dell to come up with Chromebox soon
Chromebox, specifically designed for meetings has four components, and both Asus Chromebox, as well as, HP one has same Intel Core i7 chip, a 1080p HD camera module, microphone/speaker and a RF remote control. Google, also, announced that Dell will launch a Chromebox for Meetings and business.
Acer is also on the way to launch Chromebox, which would supposedly feature the Intel Celeron 2957U Haswell processor, 16GB to 32GB of massive storage and support up to 8GB of RAM. There has not been any announcement regarding the launch date of the Chromebox, but the details were mentioned in the company 2014 product list.
