Fortinet Chosen by Black Hat to Protect the Event Network and Provide the First Exclusive Showings of Black Hat’s Network Operations Command Center
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 20, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) – the global leader in high-performance cyber security solutions, has been chosen by Black Hat (https://www.blackhat.com) to help secure the entire event network environment for attendees, participants and staff at the 2015 U.S. Black Hat conference, taking place in Las Vegas, August 1-6. Fortinet and Black Hat have also worked together to make their Network Operations Command (NOC) center available for exclusive showings throughout the show. For the first time in the show’s history, select participants will be able to see how Fortinet’s high-performance cybersecurity solutions help ensure that connectivity at the show is not sacrificed in the name of security.
As the host of some of the largest, most technical, premier information security conferences in the world, Black Hat takes security seriously, and has historically developed custom solutions to meet the demanding security requirements of the annual events. This year Black Hat turned to Fortinet hardware to help secure the event network, with an emphasis on best-in-class solutions to meet the show’s stringent network security needs.
Black Hat is installing high-performance FortiGate firewalls to protect the entire event network, as well as FortiAP wireless access points in the event conference classrooms to help ensure participants have the continuous, high-performance and ultra-secure connectivity they need to maximize their experiences.
“Cyber attacks continue to grow in frequency and scope, and a large conference like Black Hat can be a successful target for cyber criminals if the event network isn’t completely secure,” said John Maddison, vice president of marketing products at Fortinet. “We are proud to be working with Black Hat to help ensure all business and personal data assets associated with the U.S. Black Hat event are protected.”
Since its inception in 1997, Black Hat has grown to be the most respected information security event series internationally, bringing together the best and brightest within the security community and providing a forum for security professionals to learn the very latest in information security risks, research and trends.
“Fortinet is a strong community member, participant and partner in our Black Hat conferences,” said Steve Wyle, General Manager, Black Hat. “We’re happy to be working with Fortinet this year and are confident that our attendees will have the security they expect, without sacrificing their data or connectivity.”
