Regional director Yue Chin Beng will coordinate customers’ needs across countries and provide them with a synchronised total solution that will optimise their business outcome
Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) − a global leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions − today announced that it has appointed a regional director to manage and grow large strategic accounts across the Southeast Asia & Hong Kong region. Technology industry veteran Yue Chin Beng will now oversee Fortinet’s relationships with Southeast Asia & Hong Kong customers who have businesses with two or more countries in this region, or with Fortinet on an Asia Pacific or global level.
Yue’s primary role is to identify possible avenues of synergies for these accounts, coordinate with the customers’ Fortinet account managers in the various countries to better meet the clients’ overall needs, and grow the accounts over time.
Underscoring the importance of this appointment, George Chang, Fortinet’s VP for Southeast Asia & Hong Kong, said: “Yue has been engaging customers strategically at senior levels for many years. His experience will enable us to synergistically orchestrate the delivery of customers’ varied requirements and help them meet their business objectives better, thus elevating Fortinet’s playing field to a higher level.”
Yue, which has over three decades of experience in the IT industry, previously worked at NetIQ, Novell, Attachmate Group and WordPerfect in a variety of local and regional business management, sales, channel, professional services and technical support roles.
Yue said: “I am delighted to be joining Fortinet at a time when it is turning into a billion dollar company. We have had many customer successes in recent years but more will come if we can better understand and deliver on customers’ needs on a holistic basis. I am here to provide that single point of view that helps customers achieve bigger business objectives with greater ease.”
Yue’s appointment follow several initiatives launched by the Fortinet Southeast Asia & Hong Kong team in the last 12 months, including the rollout of its enterprise security consulting services, a new solution centre in Kuala Lumpur, and an expanded R&D team in Singapore and Malaysia.
“As a result of these initiatives, the Fortinet Southeast Asia & Hong Kong team enjoyed several major customer wins in the past 12 months, including a well recognised global logistics company and a high-traffic online services firm,” said Chang. “We will continue to blaze a trail in the industry by appointing more key personnel and adjusting our strategy to stay ahead of our customers’ business needs.”
