Ford fans, as you know the smallest in the SUVs lineup starts its sales early 2018 in the US but as it seems all of us will have an opportunity to check it out in the Marvel Studios’ new Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie which is set for launch on May 5th. To add upon this, the little SUV will also make its appearance in a special edition comic book (only 500 printed examples), and it’s also going to be available digitally for a short period of time.
To raise up the hype additionally, Ford also decided to give away a brand new 2018 EcoSport which you can win by participating in the “Be the Guardian of Your Galaxy” sweepstakes at www.marvel.com/ecosport. Besides the main prize which is the vehicle, there are a lot of consolation prizes such as tickets to a hometown screening of the movie, “plenty of swag,” and one of the 150 bespoke illustrations created by a Marvel artist which show off the fan envisioned as a galactic hero.
For those of you who do not know, the 2018 Ford EcoSport debuted at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, and it is the first Indian-built Ford sold in the US. As for the Europe-bound EcoSport, as it seems it won’t be imported from India like the US one, instead the company decided that it should be made in Craiova, Romania where the former Daewoo plant was, and besides the EcoSport Ford will also put together the very slow-selling B-Max MPV.
The version of EcoSport destined for the US will be offered with both FWD and AWD configuration and with a choice of two engines – three-cylinder, 1.0 L turbocharged EcoBoost and a larger four-cylinder 2.0 L unit. Both of these engines will be attached to the six-speed automatic transmission. The AWD EcoSport will make you forfeit some additional cash, but in return, you will get a bigger powerplant, and one of the more expensive SES or Titanium trim levels, which is not that bad.
Price
The Blue Oval company has not set the price just yet, but some predictions are that it might cost just less than an Escape which comes at $23,750, so we believe that a price tag of around $20,000 is more realistic and should be expected.
