Well, finally we have good news for cinema and comic book fans, the release date of the highly anticipated Deadpool 2 movie sequel is finally revealed, and after much speculation and a lot of speculations suggesting that it could come in early 2018, we now have an exact release date. According to the Deadline, Deadpool 2 has been scheduled for June 1, 2018, with filming probably starting in June of this year. As you already know from numerous posts we have written, the sequel will be directed by David Leitch (John Wick) and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
The last years Deadpool movie was, and that can’t be disputed by anyone, a huge hit, and it can be seen by the both online and offline interest and talk about. The end of 2016 and this year up until now will be remembered by the preparation for the sequel and the casting for the role of Cable. If you didn’t catch the news by now, the role of Cable has been given to Josh Brolin, and our beloved Deadpool will still be Ryan Reynolds.
In the comics Cable is actually Nathan Summers who is the present day son of X-Men character Cyclops and a clone of Jean Grey called Madeline Pryor. Cable is foretold to kill the Apocalypse which is why this villain infected him with a lethal techno-organic virus that eventually leads to Rachel, Nathans older sister from an alternate reality, taking Nathan into the future where he stood a chance of survival. Cable finally returned to the present as a mysterious, older bounty hunter figure known for using a lot more brutal methods than the regular X-Men.
Everyone who highly anticipate the sequel of Deadpool could recently see a teaser, shot by Deadpool 2 director David Leitch, which was posted on Reynolds’ YouTube page. The teaser titled “No Good Deed” was really great and it featured Deadpool who, as Wade Wilson, was listening to John Parr’s “St. Elmo Fire” when he saw a street robbery which needed his involvement and putting a stop to it, in his usual meta way of course. Besides being that much awesome, and hosting a cameo from former Marvel President Stan Lee, the trailer does not reveal all too much besides “Deadpool… coming … not soon enough.”
