Much to the embarrassment of unsuspecting Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) users a recent Trojan that had gullible users clicking on trick-porn links has shocked many out of their wits.
Rubbing it in further, was the fact that when the user clicked on the link, a friend was unknowingly tagged along with an invite.
While earlier too, there have been various malware scams by experts, the latest is albeit more subtle, opine experts. While earlier much of such malware was focused on bogus message, the tagging feature, this time appears to be outright outwitting.
Trojan’s have always remained a step ahead of end user and it does remain tough for the standard user, using a small or medium-display screen smartphone to decipher secure tags. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) malware, with time have been taking a more subtle path to trick unwitting users. The key aspect in the case of such Trojans is the request to install a plug-in.
This is where the user has to smarten up and avoid the click. Curious to upstage the friend who apparently sent you the invite, could well do be your undoing. For, plug-in updates or installs are one way the Trojan can move into your device.
