Tech giants Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) suffered technical glitches that prevented users from accessing its websites briefly over the past two days.
In a statement, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) stated that some of its users experience logging in to its website for a short period. “We encountered an error while making infrastructure configuration changes,” according to the social network giant.
Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) said the technical error was fixed immediately after discovering the problem.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and will thoroughly investigate this issue so we can learn from it and ensure that Facebook is there when people need it,” according to an e-mailed statement from the social network giant.
On the other hand, eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) also confirmed that some of its users were unable to log in to their accounts on its website. According to the online market place that problem appears to have been caused by technical issues during its scheduled maintenance.
eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) said a majority of its users were not affected by the technical glitch.
Meanwhile, Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) experienced a similar problem yesterday. Some users had a problem accessing or making a purchase on the Cupertino-based iPhone makers multiple online stores around 3:30 P.M to 9:00 P.M. yesterday.
The iPhone maker also issued a media advisory regarding its investigation into the theft of photos of certain celebrities. The management of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said they were outraged by the issue and immediately directed the company’s engineers to investigate it.
“Our customers’ privacy and security are of utmost importance to us. After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions—a practice that has become all too common on the Internet None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved,” according to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).
Early this year, the home page of Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO), Yahoo Weather, Yahoo Mail and Flicker were inaccessible as reported by users. At the time, the company said it was aware of the interruption and was working to resolve it.
