Ezekiel Elliott is not willing to back up from the battle for his six-game suspension, and his attorneys are in talks with the NFL trying to reduce the number of games Elliott will have to sit out. The details regarding the proposition are unknown, but at this point of the season, neither the league nor the NFLPA is willing to settle the case, according to a source close to the entire situation.
The suspension came in August as Elliott is said to have physical confrontations with his former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson, thus violating NFL’s personal conduct policy. The Columbus, Ohio authorities never charged Zeke with a crime, but despite that, the league went on with the investigation which lasted for more than a year.
On Friday, Elliott’s case got extended once again when the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request for an administrative stay to the NFLPA on Elliott’s behalf. In other words, Zeke’s suspension is put on hold once again, allowing the Dallas Cowboys star running back to be on the field.
This week, a panel of federal judges is scheduled to convene to hear Elliott’s request for an injunction which is supposed to overturn Judge Katherine Polk Failla’s ruling from Monday. Once again, it can go both ways – Zeke might be available for the upcoming game, or he can start serving his suspension.
This man was on the field on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, and he played well. In fact, the entire Dallas team managed to shut down Chiefs’ magnificent offense. Elliott had 93 rushing yards on 27 carries, which was 3.4 yards per carry. Even though this wasn’t his best game of the season, he gave a lot of trouble to the opposing defense, while he also scored a touchdown.
