The league office has informed Ezekiel Elliott that he is going to miss the first six games as a result of the suspension for the domestic violence situation that he was involved in a year ago. Even though the charges in the court of justice have been dropped, the NFL decided that they need to conduct an investigation and decide whether or not Ezekiel Elliott should miss some time on the field because of his actions off of it.
The suspension was almost for sure going to happen, but many believed that it is going to be two games tops. In the end, the suspension was much more serious than anyone thought it would be, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliott.
They are, of course, furious with this decision and they are going to appeal it. Jerry Jones was really mad when he was being interviewed and the Cowboys are not just going to sit and do nothing about this situation. Here is what Ezekiel Elliott said on twitter about this situation.
“I am both surprised and disappointed by the NFL’s decision today, and I strongly disagree with League’s findings.”
“I recognize the distraction and disruption that all of this has caused my family, friends, teammates, and the Dallas Cowboys organization as well as my fans – for that I am sincerely sorry.
“I admit that I am far from perfect, but I continue to work very hard, on and off the field, to mature and earn the great opportunity that I have been given.”
