Most of Cowboys fans should be happy with the effort of their running back in the big win over Bears. Ezekiel Elliot was just fantastic on a big Sunday Night Football stage. After two subpar games in first two weeks, he finally had his breakthrough performance.
Zeke looked like he was really pumped for this game, ran hard and celebrated every first down. He showed a lot of heart in this match as even himself knew he didn’t meet the expectations in his first two games and we could see him giving everything he has.
At the end of the day, he did have 30 carries and ran for 140 yards with an average of 4.66 yards per carry. He was also able to catch two passes for 20 yards. Didn’t score a TD as they game the ball to Lance Dunbar on one occasion which was weird as he is their third running back on the depth chart, but still, it was a great outing for Elliot.
Jason Garrett and Jerry Jones have been consistent with their statements about Elliot and that he still was their guy after those two a bit disappointing performances. And he showed that he deserves the spot that he is in. Hopefully, for the Cowboys, this is a sign of things to come. This man was just dominant on a college level, and we saw glimpses of what he can do on NFL level.
